So, I love DH, but I gave him basically one task to do for this anniversary party. I asked him to design a “Save the Date,” (he has an art degree) and get his family’s addresses that I don’t already have so that I could send out STDs. This was in January. Since then, he has decided that he wants to (avoid spending the time required to make them) and order them off vistaprint. We have great thank you notes from them, but honestly I’m not really crazy about any of them, but there is one that sort of fits our theme/colors.
Still, he hasn’t finished getting the addresses or ordering them. Our party is July first, and it’s basically almost March. Should we even bother at this point?
His family is all being invited from out of town (4 hours ish), and I feel like they’re pretty tempermental as it is. But honestly, I’m trying to not to be a nag but I really think he’s setting himself up for a big disappointment by not giving people a ton of time to plan, reserve a room, and save.
What would you do?

since many are from out of town and it’s too early to send an invitation, I would say just send them. But hurry!

- Wedding: July 2012 - Baltimore Museum of Industry
Our wedding’s in July, and I’m also designing our save the dates. I sent extra special people an e-mail heads up of our wedding date (“it may be a couple of weeks until I get the printed save the dates, so I wanted to let you know we’re getting married 7/13…more info to follow”), and will be sending these to vistaprint this week.

Everyone just received their Save the Dates this past week and our wedding is in August. I did magnets from Vistaprint and they are a huge hit with everyone.
Just note that if you select the super slow shipping it will be about 2 weeks before you get them. They say 3 weeks but mine came in about 2 maybe 2 1/2 weeks.

I debated STDs and, like you, they got put off and put off, so this weekend I called up my friends who I wanted to come and gave them the details, Fiance called his, and our parents called their friends. It was the most informal heads up, but it was also nice to be able to chit chat with all of our guests on the phone about the wedding.
