I may buy a car in a color that I didn’t necessarily want if it allowed me to save money. However, I probably would resist buying a car in a color that I really dislike.

I voted no, but I feel really strongly about car colors. I would never drive a car that wasn’t white, black, or silver (unless it was a dark maroon Porsche Cayenne) so I’d do what I could to either bargain for the color I wanted or I’d just pay for the color I wanted.

If it allowed me to save a significant amount of money then I’d definitely force myself to get over the colour haha 😉 Although I don’t think any amount of savings could convince me to get a car in a weird colour like lime green or burnt orange aha

If it meant it was like… neon green or orange or yellow or something, no. But dark blue is a “normal” car color so it would totally be worth saving money!

Color doesn’t matter to me when buying a car. Cars get you from point a to point b.

If I HATED the color? I don’t think i could do it. I LOATHE white cars. I just couldn’t drive one. Any other color I’d probably suck it up. I didn’t love my red car initially, but I really really miss it now, even though I have the color I originally wanted now.

Maybe not if it were highlighter pink or something like that, but if it were in a color that I simply wasn’t fond of and it saved me money, sure.

@peasantsong:  oh I didn’t realize it was that expensive. I guess those Macco commercials from back in the day came with stipulations. LOL

Are you really saving money in the lon run? Or is the person who buys it from you also going to be paying that much less because nobody wants that color? If it were burnt orange, i’d steer clear, but dark blue is definitely not a deal breaker.

Plus, nobody notices/cares if your car looks dirty. I don’t think you need to worry about it 🙂

I bought a car in blue (which I wasn’t fond of either) but couldnt find another car of that quality in the price range I wanted at the time, so yes. It doesn’t bother me at all now…

I did. I was at a subaru lot and they were trying to fet rid of all the 2012s. I wanted an impreza. There was one red sedan, and the “dark cherry” (red, but almost black) and a few other hatchbacks. YUCK! For some reason, every dealer was shocked that a young girl, only 20, didnt like hatchbacks, when most younger people loved them. I wanted the black cherry, but none were available. So, I got the red. And I actually like it. Once the lease is up, i am probably going to buy it out and give it to my fiance though, and get the color i want! 🙂
