Hi Ladies (and Gentlemen?),
Just want another opinion on this!
I am totally head over heels in love with these invites:
And would ultimately, after having got the invites out, want more than the invites designed- programs, thank you cards etc etc.
BUT, this Etsy seller only joined the site in July, hasn’t sold anything yet and has no feedback. She/He only has 2 items for sale, and they have nothing listed under ‘shop policies.
However, on the other hand I figure, everyone has to start somewhere, and the description is quite thorough. The design is also only £30, so if it all goes wrong I haven’t lost that much really.
So, would you buy from this seller? Is this a big black hole for my money?

Hmm well i am all about taking risks..i bought tons of things for my wedding (videographer, cake, flowers etc.) from people who didnt even have a site!!! *laugh*
So i would say go for it…whats the worst that could happen!!?

I would PM the seller first and see how the interaction goes. I bought a wedding announcement poster from a brand new seller on etsy, and she was great. She was super attentive, made changes to the design multiple times at my request, and mailed it to me quickly. I liked her so much I ended up having her design our invitations even though she’d never done it before. I say go for it, but go with your gut. If you aren’t hearing back from them or feel like something isn’t right, back off at that point.

i second what @Merry02 said, start interacting and see how comfortable you are with them. ask them what their policies are, how they got started, what methods they use, and any previous work. if they’re open and you feel comfortable with them after that – go for it!

I’m working with a relatively new-to-the-scene, no-name graphic designer for my wedding invites and it’s going wonderfully so far and I couldn’t be happier w/the end results. I would definitely recommend PM the seller and asking questions about anything you’re concerned about. Also, you have so much more control since s/he is only doing the design work (you can print where and however you want!), which makes it worth the invesment. But I would certainly make sure you’re comfortable with this person’s process and communication style/frequency before making the purchase!

You are right – everyone has to start somewhere and we all had 0 posts even here on the bee! So think how awesome it would be for you to be one of the first people to buy from this seller! If you love the invites go for it! If they come back great then be sure to give the seller some good feedback and just know that those invites were probably just as special and exciting for that new seller as they were for you because you’re empowering another person to make their own living! Love it!
ETA: Just looked at them and I loooove them too!!! So elegant and modern and glam at the same time!

I sent a message about 3 days ago now, and heavnt heard anything back, so unfortunatley its not looking good! Which is sucha shame because I REALLY love those invites.
On the plus side, I have been in contact with another seller whose invites I like, who said they can incorporate this kind of look into one of her designs. AND I have a friend in the deisgn dept at work who said she coudl also do them for me- so now i cant decide who to choose!
