So I just ordered this dress from Nordstrom’s to have for date nights, weddings, etc.
Assuming it fits and I like it when I comes, I’m considering getting the sash that hangs down removed. It just seems out of place and “off” in the picture to me (although maybe it will seem fine when on in person).
What do you guys think? Would the dress look alright without the hanging sash? If I remove the sash, would the rosette look fine by itself?

I don’t think the dress would give the same shape without the sash- and it looks lovely as is! Also- it may not be removable- it’s pretty wide, might be that the skirt and top parts are sewn to the middle?

It will look great without the sash! Maybe you could make a 1-2 additional rosettes with the fabric from the sash and add them as a cluster near the original. It would make the “belt” look more balanced.

@Mrs.KMM: I think it would look good either way. Personally, I would cut off the hanging sash. The rosette would look fine on its own… hope this helps.

@double0bride: Oh – I don’t plan to remove the wide “belted” part around the waist (that’s actually part of what I love about the dress) and I think you’re right in that it isn’t removeable. I’m just thinking of removing the two “ends” that hang down from the waist to the hem.

@Mrs.KMM: You’re welcome! And guess what, i’m way too stupid for photoshop 😉
But i recently found out that Paint has some nice features now and it is super easy.

I think it would look good with or without the hanging down part of sash. However, like pink.sequins said, I’d either make more roses out of the sash, or remove the flower altogether. Cute dress!

I like it without the ribbons hanging down-and it might really be fun to use those to make 2 more roses to place near the other one. 🙂

I love the sash..s0 pretty! But it’s a beautiful dress anyways-…

I would do either way though I am more partial to the hanging sash.

I would definitely remove the hanging sash pieces. Like the others have said, either add more flowers (which could be a pain to match) or remove the flower completely. Also, this is a super cute dress!
