The truth is only a personal attack when it’s inconvenient to a WB mod.

For me that would depend entirely on how it was phrased.

Some people tell the truth because they care.

Some because they feel they must.

Others because they know they can use it as a weapon.

If someone told me something true that I needed to know but went out of their way to be mean about it, then yes, I’d consider that a personal attack.

It depends on how important your wedding recaps are.

@sara_tiara:  +1.

IMO, it’s not a personal attack if it’s true. It’s a personal attack if it’s false or exaggerated or half-truth.

I think it’s not about what you say, but how you say it.

always tell the truth and prefer the truth be told to me in every situation. However, there is a time and a place for everything. The timing and tone of certain truths can definitely be made into a personal attack.

Personally, if you don’t want your dirty laundry out for the world to see, especially in the technical age where EVERYTHING about anyone is pretty much on the internet, I wouldn’t make myself any more known on a public fourm. If you put yourself out there, exspect things to come out.

I did ask the specific mod to clarify the rule for discussing this person.

To me, yes, but I’m really sensitive and defensive in situations like that.

Only if it was used as an attack rather then a statement of fact. Like, I know I’m overweight, and if someone said to me “Sibs, sweetie, you’re overweight and need to eat less cake” I wouldn’t be upset but if someone said “Oi, porky-thighs, you are so fat it makes me sick” then yes, that would be a personal attack.

Yes, you can personally attack someone for something that is the truth.  Is this a real question?

In my opinion, if you put pictures up on a site, and someone recognizes you, that is not an attack. It is merely an observation that makes some people uncomfortable.

If you don’t want people to know your dirty laundry, don’t put yourself out there.

ETA: That being said, I don’t really think an internet forum devoted to weddings has the obligation to deny people entrance based on morals.

It depends on how it’s said.  You can’t just rip into someone, even if it’s the truth, without it being a personal attack.  Women….I swear….
