I can’t say if it’s a good deal for that specific trip, but I know it would be out of my price range as a guest.

Can you go on the ferry, but stay in the hotel with them?  I’d ask them about the ferry – just tell them your budget is tight and you’d prefer the ferry for menetary reasond.

Way to expensive. And if you can get the flights for much cheaper someone needs to say something.

@ticatica: HAs anything been booked?  If not, do some quick research and suggest alternate flights or the ferry, and then just email the Maid/Matron of Honor saying “Hey, I’d love to go, but [I/my friends] usually take [cheap airline/ferry], and it is great and super affordable!”

Why can’t you say anything about the price? If you know you can get it for cheaper why not tell them? I would think everyone would want to save a little money!

Yeah that would be out of my price range as well.  I’m with the other ladies, if you want to go, why not tell her that you want to book transportation on your own because of budget?

It would be too much for me, although I understand your disappointment completely.

This is what happens when bachelorette/hen parties are planned without regard to the expense.

$530 will buy me a week in an all-inclusive resort including airfare for my vacation. I will  not be spending that amount on a party for a friend.

Back out now! Seriously, that’s crazy! Tell the Maid/Matron of Honor that you can’t afford it.

I dont know the area, or anything like that so I couldnt say if I thought that was a good price for the trip itself, but I know I wouldnt be able to swing that. Fiance and I are usually on a pretty tight budget. Thats almost my rent.
