I did it and it was like half the price of having the whole cake be real.  The cake was delicious and several people told me that it was the best wedding cake they ever had (It was white chocolate strawberry shortcake).  I don’t know that anyone noticed that the cake wasnt real.

If my vision was a large tiered cake or a very intricately decorated cake than I would have done this in a heartbeat if it was more cost efficient.

I love desert too much for it to be fake, but I wouldn’t care if someone else did it as long as I got some cake, who cares.

I really wish we had done this.  We had too much cake and not enough time to eat the leftovers since we had a destination wedding.
