Yeah, I bought exactly what I wanted so I’m not sure if I’d trade it in because of that, but if I saw something I was just in love with and fell out of love with my ring, I’d trade up.

What will actually happen is my Darling Husband will buy me a lot of different kinds of rings (over the years, not right now obv) that I’ll wear for special occasions and my day-to-day will be the e-ring and wedding band I was married with as long as I love them – To me, it’s just beautiful jewelry that on a certain finger that symoblizes something bigger.

I would not want to trade up. I am very sentimental and it would not sit well with me that the ring I wore was not the same one I was married with.

I bought a cheap one for the wedding because we couldn’t afford what I really wanted. I will hopefully get my band next year, and now I have a stand in for the days that I need it

@Tswife4ever: litereally the same thing happened to me! I bought a diamond band and before the wedding I was wearing it around the house a lot and decided I didn’t like it!  it was too late to return it, and the jeweler didn’t have any rings I liked enough to upgrade to.  I’m a designer, and I get really hung up on details and how things look together.

so after lots of consideration and what felt like a million hours spent browsing, I bought a moissanite band that was super affordable- it cost less than my diamond band but was a way better design. I didn’t think my SO would be upset – I paid for both bands with my money and we can afford it (also, my wedding dress was really cheap). but I was kind of worried he would think that I was being foolish with my money, so when I told him I bought a second band, I offered to try to sell the first one.

he was super nice about it and said keep both bands if you want to! you can have as many rings as you want! can you believe how lucky I am?

I absolutely adore my 2nd ring. I’ve been married since august, and I absolutely love it. I’m so glad I did it. sometimes I put on the original ring, and think “meh.” maybe I’ll sell it after all.

I am not that sentimental about rings, but I will get exactly what I want and love so that I do not feel the need to upgrade or change later. With that being said though, I am always admiring other beautiful rings so maybe somewhere down the road I’d want an anniversary band of some kind to wear on my other hand or something.

My husband & I bought super cheap sterling silver plain bands for temp rings. We got married with them & planned to keep them forever as keep sakes. We was still going to upgrade though. I ended up losing mine. 🙁 I wish I still had it to keep but I don’t.

Either way though, yes we got new bands!

Keep the sentimental one and buy an extra one that is what you want and then you can alternate the two…. =)
