whitums : He seemed very good when I spoke with him for my initial consult. He lists fertility as one of his treatment areas and I’m going in for 3 appointments leading up to my predicted ovulation.
I’m wondering if RobbieAndJuliahaha : is on to something.
I know waiting a couple weeks thing is sort of an old wives tale, what people used to believe and how now been disproven. I’m going to give it a go this cycle and see how things go. All of the rest of his advice has been completley in line with everything else that I know and have read, it was just that piece that threw me.

MsGinkgo : I would find an acupuncturist who specializes in fertility/infertility. My acupuncturist has told us to hold off 2-3 DAYS before, she has never said anything about waiting 2-3 weeks so I don’t think it’s some sort of TCM remedy (though what do I know…lol). I would explore other options…that would be a red flag for me.

BeeBlake : I went to see him on Saturday for a first appointment. Figured I’d give it a go and I can look for someone new for next cycle if I don’t like him. He mentioned that 2-3 weeks thing again and I told him it was contrary to everything else I’ve been told and read. He seemed to take it well and just said it was part of what he was taught through his programs.
Honestly, if I’ve learned anything so far from TTC it’s that there’s a whole lot of advice out there and it seems to vary a lot depending on the couple and their circumstance

MsGinkgo : I recently started seeing a fertility acupuncturist and have nothing but great things to say. He never mentioned anything about DH not ejaculating for 2-3 weeks. To be honest that sounds really odd! Does this person specialize in fertility acupuncture? If not I would see one who does. Mine came highly recommended from a friend who goes to school for acupuncture and later found out he works with the top IUI/IVF offices on LI.
I see my acupuncturist once a week and it lasts about 45 mins total. Everytime I leave I feel so amazing – as if I just left the spa – super relaxed. Since starting my skin has cleared up, I sleep better, I overall feel really good and my cycle became more regular. My acupuncturist said to start BDing every other day starting CD8. Once I get a + opk to BD everyday until I no longer have any O signs. I’ve seen him a total of 8 sessions so far. First cycle he placed me on these herbal meds that are supposed to strengthen my uterine muscles. Second cycle he had me taking these drops called uterine tonic that is suppose to help uterine circulation. Second cycle I found out I was pregnant! I truly feel the acupuncture helped so if your insurance covers it why not – just make sure this person knows what they are doing.

I am extremely against acupuncture and all other forms of woo medicine, so I’d tell you to go to a real doctor.
