1.5 ct will look great, rock it!

Stick with 1.25 ct, no bigger

    Go smaller, don't be gaudy!

    I got a larger-than-average stone & I couldn't be happier

I opted for smaller (we could afford bigger) & I'm so glad I did [please explain]

OP, I think your ring is lovely.  But if you want a bigger stone and you guys can afford a bigger stone with the same quality, then I say go for it!

@Jade33:  My original wedding ring was a design that would not work with another ring – it is a wide crossover/bypass style standalone ring. Plus, it was nickel white gold which it turns out, I cannot wear anymore! I have it tucked away safely in our memory box, though! I have had had entire new sets.

Yeah lol I was thinking you meant as like a “promise” ring or something. But as your wedding ring, totally get the 1.5! I cant wait to see pics!

It looks good on you, but peronally I would probably find it too big and not very tasteful on my hand. I’m also a ring size 5.5 and have small hands.

I think around 0.5 – 0.7 carat looks the best on my hand. I just don’t want it to look flashy or anything…

That’s just my opinion and preference so it all depends on how you feel about it, though! 🙂

The 1.5 ct rock looks lovely on you! As long as you love it, who cares what others think! And anyone who tells you it’s gaudy is just jealous…

Here’s my ring, it’s 1.02 carat. I’m a size 5.25. I feel like my rock is a pretty decent size, but would I have turned down a 1.5 ct rock? No way!!!

I got a 1.5 ct equivalent Moissy (size 7 finger) and I get LOADS of comments than it’s ‘huge’. I do feel slightly self-concious about it, as I have some newly engaged friends and I’d hate if they felt belittled by my ‘huge’ stone (even if it probably cost a fraction of their ‘real’ diamond). The average ring size where I live/work is probably from .3 – .75 ct (1 ct in exceptional cases), so it’s fair enough that mine looks much larger, even on my chubby fingers. I absolutely adore it, thought, and I think the size suits my finger size perfectly.

It’s up to you; I think 1.25 ct is a good size, or possibly a little large, but if you’re concerned about feeling self-concious you might want to opt on the smaller side.
