3-5 is nothing in an area that gets snow every winter. If you live in Myrtle Beach, then no, the whole city will be shut down. Anywhere north of DC, yes, of course I would go.

Like others said.. Locations matters. And not “the suburbs”. For most people that’s probably not a big deal, but where I live, our roads and maintenance aren’t equipped for snow.  Our roads shut down if we get ice much less snow.

Haha, girl there are “suburbs” attatched to every large city. What matters if it’s the suburbs of Milwaukee, where 3-5 inches would be nothing, or the suburbs of Atlanta, where it would be an issue.

If it’s a week away, and you know it’s going to snow, plan ahead.

If it was your wedding and it snowed, would you want your friends to attend?

pateacher:  This depends on so many factors. “In the suburbs” doesn’t help.

I got married in the midst of a snowstorm…and everyone still came.  I knew this is why we invited all of these people – they cared about us and wanted to be there no matter what.  If I can find a way to get to the wedding for two people I really love and care about, I would!  I live in Canada so snowstorms here are typical and because I got married in the winter, it was kind of expected that there could potentially be a snowstorm or lots of snow…they were ready for that.

3-5 inches sounds like a normal day.  Go for sure, unless you live somewhere in the country that does not have plows.  I do not cancel plans unless there are more than 16 inches or it is an ice storm.  Then again, I live in Rochester NY.  Seriously though, if you think your vehicle/driving ability can’t handle that amount of snow, then carpool with a friend.

I would assume New Jersey often sees 3 inches of snow and has the equipment to remove it from the road. I would still plan to go and make sure I’ve made every preparation to go. If it ends up getting worse the day of the wedding, then I might reconsider.

pateacher:  I voted yes but I live in Boston and 3-5 is considered a dusting here. I wouldn’t wear my nicest shoes, but I’d definitely still go!

I love snow, so I would actually be more likely to go haha.

pateacher:  That’s not a lot of snow for NJ. If you already RSVPd yes, I’d go.

ETA: If it was a foot, I would say skip it and don’t feel bad. That’s the risk people take having their wedding in January in NJ. But 3-5 inches, that’s the risk YOU take accepting an invitation to a wedding in January in NJ. It’s definitely doable.

NJ can handle that amount of snow just fine.
