@Equine_Breeder:  Anything that requires people to take a day off from work is a hassle. Did you inquire about Sunday? Sometimes Sunday costs less than Friday and Saturday. A Sunday afternoon would give Out of Town time to travel to and from, and people wouldn’t have to miss work.

A good friend of mine is getting married next summer, and it will most likely be on a Monday. She, her fiance, and many of their friends are in the restaurant industry, so they can’t do anything on the weekends. I’m fine with it. Actually I don’t see any difference between going to  a wedding and say going to a concert on a week night, which I do occasionally. So you’re a little tired the next day. Not the end of the world.
