I would love it actually! I loooove weddings, and I never know what to do on New Years Eve… I think it would be ideal, and ugh it’s in NYC?! I think you’re so lucky, jealous!

We did it before, we would prefer to not do it again. Our anniversary is the 30th, so we prefer to go out ourselves that night. Lots of traffic into and out of the city, hoards of people; when we lefvt at 1:00 there were drunksy stunbling, yelling, and puking in the streets. Parking was $$$. I’m sure the hotel rooms were, too. Nope, not for me.

sounds like it will be an awesome NYE party.  honestly, you say you are good friends with the bride.  what better activity could come up that you couldn’t do another year.

i’ve always wondered why people say they want to see if something better comes up when they receive an invitation.  either you want to go or you don’t.

I went to a NYE wedding and it was so amazing and fun!  Totally a great way to ring in the new year!  If this is a good friend of yours I would totally go.

mrshttob:  Do you live in NYC?  If not, hotels and flights are ridiculously expensive around New Year’s because NYC is a major New Year’s Eve party destination.

A nye wedding would be amazing. It’s great to know in advance that you’ll have a great time on that night, especially when you don’t even have to pay a dime?! That’s amazing and kills 2 or 3 birds with one stone. Also- you really don’t have to worry about rsvping for months and months. And nobody ever really has advance plans (besides a wedding) that are guaranteed to be fun on nye, so I don’t see how youll get a better offer.

I love the idea of a NYE wedding. My NYE are usually pretty lame, so it would be fun to have an excuse to get dressed to the nine’s!

The wedding being on NYE wouldn’t make me any less likely to go than if it were on another day. As long as I was close with the couple and in town, I would gladly go.

mrshttob:  I would definitely go. However, Fiance and I never really do anything on NYE. We just usually make a nice dinner and try to stay up to watch the ball drop, haha.

So I think this would be a good reason to get out on NYE!

I would probably only go if it was a close friend or family member. I’m not a big partier and dealing with a load of drunk people when I leave a wedding does not sound fun to me.

If it is a good friend, you should go! It will take all of the stress out of making celebratory plans for NYE.
