My parents had a one bedroom apartment in the Bronx for four kids. I shared the “living room” in a crib for three years with my parents, and my three brothers shared the bedroom. Until they got preg with kid number 5, and they finally had money for a house. Was it the ideal situation … no but it worked out fine.
DH & I have a small house near a park and close to a school, on a dead end street. I was more concerned with traffic in the neighborhood than the size of our house.

As a New Yorker, this is definitely a funny question. We plan on having a baby in our current apartment. It’s a 2 bedroom…the second bedroom is teeny tiny. But it’s fine. Total square footage of the apartment is 550. I know people that live with a baby in smaller.
Not only is this our plan with our current apartment, but when we buy, it will likely be an apartment!

Do you have a space you can partition? Or a big closet? 😀

We actually have a lot of extra space in the bedroom, but I’m not sure how having a nursery in our bedroom would work though. Pinterest it is!

Go for it. SO and I are not sure if we will be able to afford a house around the time when we will be trying to have a baby and are totally not opposed to having a baby in an apartment. I wouldn’t mind having young children in an apartment, but would prefer to move into a house when they get older. I also feel like it may be easier to have a baby in a small space. Less running around with the baby and it will be easier to clean and keep up with eveything when you are busy with the baby.

Currently TTC and living in a flat… which I’ve heard is your equivilant of a unit? or a town house? It’s 2 bedroom with a tiny kitchen and no dining room but the lounge-room might accomodate if we move things around.
The way I see it is that our spare room is used as storage and a guest room at the moment, but we could do a clean out and invest in a chest of drawers so our overflow could live in our own room, and baby won’t exactly be eating in a high-chair for at least 6 months so we would have plenty of time to search for a bigger place if need be. Not to mention the time it may/will take us to actually concieve. I would go for it now
