I did have to fast, so I did it as early as I possibly could!

ETA: Afternoon might be good for you though, as I was sick for a while after from the crap they make you drink!!  I would not have wanted to go to work feeling that way.

I’ve never had to fast for mine, and I always do it in the morning.  I’ve also never had any ill effects, though, so I make all my appointments for the morning.  🙂

I never had to fast for both of mine and I did each one in the afternoon.

I had mine at the end of the day, and it was so hard to make sure I ate well so I didn’t sabotage myself. And I worried about making sure i drank the glucola at the right time and not forgetting. I felt fine afterward (although I did bring a peanut butter sandwich along to eat as soon as I could).

I wasn’t required to fast, but I was required not to eat anything but protein beforehand. She suggested two eggs, just to put something in my belly so the sugar drink wouldn’t be too heavy, so I voted for the AM.

I went in the late afternoon and just went home after. I failed and was very bummed out- I would have hated to go back to work after that! For my three hour I knew I’d be starving so I scheduled first thing in the morning. If you don’t have to fast, I’d go with late afternoon. As far as what to eat- my dr. said as long as you’re not downing snickers bars right before the test, it doesn’t really matter what you eat. I tried to eat as few carbs and sugars as possible the day of my first test and still failed. I was well below the limits on my three hour though.

I had mine in the afternoon and it was fine. I did eat a few hours before. I dont think it matters what time of the day you get the test done

I had mine in the morning and it was really nice to get it out of the way. I think mentally it made me a little more confident knowing I didn’t have much of a chance to eat something bad and screw things up whether that’s even possible/rational or not.

Otherwise, I guess it wouldn’t have really mattered what time of day I took it. I felt totally normal afterwards so it wouldn’t have made much of a difference.

    Good luck on yours!
