I would put them in separate baskets, one for scented and one for unscented so that your guests who have sensitive skin can choose.

I don’t think it’d like it as a favor, but my Future Mother-In-Law makes all kinds of soap, she has sent us avacado oil, coconut oil & hemp soap. They were all really nice, but I loved the coconut oil.

I would be so excited to receive handmade soap! I love scented soap (with essential oils, though, no fragrance!). My favorite are orange/tangerine and peppermint (which would match the green). You could also make a smaller batch of unscented for anyone with allergies or concerns. If you have a cute sign about how it’s handmade and contains no chemicals, I think most would love to have that favor!

I voted yes but I do have to say, unless it was unscented, I am not sure if I would use it or just give it to my SO to use. I have VERY sensitive skin & if it was perfumed there would be no way I could use it. If it wasn’t, I would have to know the ingredients. I love the olive oil idea as it’s perfect for people like me =) But put a little sticker with the ingredients if you can. I think it’s a cute idea!

I love the idea, have you considered sealing the soaps in s celophane (spelling?) or some type of plastic wrap to lock in the scent? That way you can stay within budget make them early and the scent should stay

@soontobemrsm11:  just out of curiosity, when you say perfumed, do you mean with synthetic fragrance or essential oils? Do you have a problem with essential oils?

No synthetic fragrance at all for me. Certain essential oils I can do (like lavender maybe) but even some of those, my skin doesn’t specifically love. I have essential oils that I burn for fragrance but I can’t put some of them on my skin. Peppermint & lavender would probably be the safest for me. out of the basic oils at least. I know there are a TON out there and I’ve just begun dabbling in them so I don’t know all of them.

I think this would be an awesome idea!  I am honestly surprised at how many voted against it.  Regarding the allergies and sensitivities-with the small size of your wedding there would likely be only a few who would not be able to use your soap, especially using natural ingredients.

I think that’s a WONDERFUL idea.  Even those people who never use bar soap (we only use it in the shower), there’s always a time you can travel with it on vacation or maybe just use it once to use it.  I think scents are going to differ based on preference, so I would pick a very clean scent that isn’t too fragrant.  I think it’s great because it’s homemade and it’s something you already do.  Can you cut them into heart shapes??

@soontobemrsm11:  thanks for answering, I was just curious because I have never heard anyone say they are allergic/sensitive to any essential oils and I happen to use them often but I hate anything synthetic.

OP, could you give us your recipe? I would love to try making my own!
