Personally, I wouldn’t, because I am very particular about what kinds of makeup I wear, not just the colors but the ingredients.  But you will know your friends better than the internet will. If they are the kind who love trying new makeups and spend hours at the makeup counters, then they would probably love it.

Stephville:  The trouble with most makeup palettes is that they are a mix of colors that one person will use and  ones they won’t. If they are exchangeable if unopened, then I would go ahead. It always feels more like you are giving and getting a gift when it is something physical.

If it is not possible to exchange, I would get them a gift card.

Honestly, my first thought would probably be “thanks for the cheap make up and awful colors”.

Then, after a month in my make up drawer, I’d probably use the eye shadow and end up living it.

So, basically, I have no advice and am of little to no help.

I personally would love it because I love Urban Decay, but my first thought was “this is really random…?”

Urban Decay is my favourite make up company, so yes I would love that palette.  Even if there are one or two colours that wouldn’t get used, I still like makeup palettes.  I did get make up palettes for my bridesmaids as a gift, but a different one for each since they all hve diffent skin tones/hair colour/eye colour.

I’d love a makeup palette but not that particular one. You know your girls better though!

Personally I’d prefer the Naked Basics ($29), or a Too Faced one (Natural, Boudoir, Neutral, Cat, etc $36), or one of the Benefit Nudes ($30) etc.

I think it’s a lovely gift, and a very nice gesture. I would maybe consider finding another way to spend the $45/pp though. $45 is a decent amount to spend, but spending that one one make-up pallete that every girl might not like or use doesn’t seem to be the best use of your funds. I would maybe instead look at perfume/jewlery/accesories? If you can’t find anything, you could always do something like a $50 gift card to Sephora so each girl could pick out her own thing?

Urban Decay is also my favorite makeup brand.  I wish it was cheap!

I love Urban Decay and that is a very generous gift.  I’d include a gift receipt though, so they can exchange it if they don’t like it.  (Sephora has a great return policy).  I do think it’ a nice gesture that you picked something out instead of a gift card.  I’d probably include a gift receipt for anything though, like a clutch or a necklace.

Edit: To me, the gift receipt is the best of both worlds.  It shows you put thought and effort in to the gift.  But if they don’t like it, they can just get something else and you won’t be offended.

I personally would like it.  I’m not a big makeup girl, but I’m starting to get into it a bit more.  But I do like the idea of a $50 Sephora gc…that way each girl can buy their own thing, should that pallette not be colours they would use.

Also, since they’re not BM’s, I think it’s really sweet that you’re getting them a gift.  You’ll be including a little note with each one?

I love Urban Decay, particularly that palette. It had been a staple of mine for many years. If your girls like makeup, then yes, that is a very good gift. I would just include a gift receipt in case.

this is a very generous gift!  I think it’s UD’s packaging that is throwing everyone off.  Personallly I would go for something a little more safe like too faced nuetrals.   You know your friends better and I’m sure they will love it.
