I had to have my ring sent in on Saturday- the center stone was loose. I thought some of the smaller stones were loose and thath is why I had it checked out…. kind of weird that it was the center stone.
While my precious is gone (will be back tomorrow!!!)- I’ve been wearing my grandmother’s wedding set. Completely different set- similiar stone size- but it’s round mine is princss.. and seriously not similiar in any way other than it is 2 rings soldered together. No one has noticed at all. I’m a teacher- so it’s not like any adults see my hands all of the hours that I am at work- But, I’m close with a few people- and we are all pretty social/in each other’s business when we have time to talk.
(BTW, I had to chuckle a few weeks ago when one of my girl students- 2nd grade- commented on just how sparkly my rings were— my kinda girl!!!)
I look at everyone’s rings and admire them all…. and I THINK that I would notice if someone was wearing a completely different wedding set. But, maybe that’s just something that I take interest in?
Do you think you’d notice if someone had on a different set?

Nope. I don’t memorize other people’s rings.

I would definitely notice. I see everyone’s rings and know exactly what they look like. However, I probably wouldn’t mention anything if they were different. I would just chalk it up to them switching it out with another set and not bring it up. Who knows what personal reason they might have for doing that – I don’t want to bring up any negative feelings! Plus, how would I even phrase that question? “Oh hey, I stare at your e-rings all the time and this one you’re wearing today is DEFINITELY different. Spill. Details. Now!” lol jk.
I just think people might notice and not say anything.

yes, i would totally notice b/c i was just like that little girl who noticed the bling and i still am.

I think I would notice eventually . . . If I’m bored at meetings I enjoy glancing at people’s rings …but just bumping into them in the hallway I might not notice.
Not sure I would say anything though unless I were pretty close friends with them.

If I knew what the original ring looked like, then I’d probably notice.

If it was someone I saw day to day at work or otherwise I would notice for sure. lol I am always checking out other people’s rings. Family, friends, strangers even! So yes, I would. 😛

@mrsc630: Yes, I would notice. I once was without my ring for six weeks while it was in NY at the designer’s to address an issue with one of my baguettes, and I wore a stand-in ring with my wedding band. The ladies who worked with me every day had NO idea. When I finally told them they couldn’t believe it.

Now that I’m engaged, I would notice. However, I don’t think I’d care. Honestly, I’d probably just think, “hey! she’s got a different set on today! cool. Anyways.” and move on.
Whatever is your reason, is your own reason. And it really doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks 🙂

Nope. I think only a small minority of people would notice, honestly – primarily women, and foremost among them other brides-to-be/recently-marrieds. Incidentally, I think the responses you’ll get on the ‘Bee are not representative of the population at large – this is a strongly-weighted subset. 😉

I MIGHT notice if I really admired the person’s set. That’s a very slim possibility.

I would definitely notice, especially if it’s someone I see everyday or work closely with. Heck, I even make comments to myself like “oh, my boss didn’t wear her earrings today.” I think I’m just detail oriented so I always pay attention to what people are wearing.

I’d notice. But it’s because I’m obsessive. -_-

No, I don’t memorize other people’s jewelry.

I doubt it. I like to check out people’s rings in passing but don’t make a mental note.
