AutumnFlower:  Have you gotten on her website? Make sure you do that first to make sure you are happy with the style of her photography. She might be absolutely fabulous, but there are a lot of people out there that say they are professional photographer’s that are not. We are on a budget, but one thing I splurged on was the photographer. Well worth it in my opinion, but I did photography for a few years awhile back so while it’s important to have a good photographer to me, other brides may not care as much!

there was something wrong with the fit of my dress which made it sometimes sag out at the sides if I wasn’t paying attention. my photographer corrected it in about 5 of my most favorite photos. she said it was easy.

I also asked her to touch up any noticeably shiny spots on my face. shiny skin is my beauty pet peeve, and I really don’t think of it as being fake if I’m photoshopping it out. it was hot and I wasn’t going to run to the bathroom every five minutes to touch up my powder.

I’ve been working with Photoshop for 13 years now and I can say I can do pretty much anything with it! Photoshop isn’t only to make you look skinny with huge boobs and a weird over-blurred skin. If there is an aspect about someone that makes them who they are, I wouldn’t change it. I would change small or distracting imperfections that don’t have the need to be there, I would definitely do some color correction depending on the feel/mood I wanted on the pictures and things like that, but everything else would be as natural as possible. I personally would very rarely leave a wedding picture untouched. πŸ™‚ There are lots of photoshopped pictures out there that no one knows was photoshopped, and that’s what I think is good photoshopping!

I was a bridesmaid in a wedding that was photographed by the same photographer I was using, and I found that she was very tasteful and conservative with her editing. It was mainly for lighting/coloring issues, skin imperfections, etc. I’m totally fine with that.

Don’t all photographers do this anyways? I’m not talking about giving you bigger breast, or bum, but they all do little touch ups to make you look radiant! I don’t see a problem with it, unless is overboard.

A very helpful bee photoshopped a few of my engagement pictures and I did additional photoshop touch-ups to remove some undereye circles, get rid of wrinkles in my dress, make FI’s shirt look less puffy in the back, slim the end of my nose a bit, etc.  However, I had a disaster makeup session and the photoshopping made me look MORE like myself rather than less.

As long as it’s just a few little things, I say go for it! The camera is often harsher than the naked eye. I tend to photoshop any important pictures people will see and I photoshopped all of my friend’s med school residency application pictures. You can definitely still look natural and like yourself!

OH HELL YES! Also, most photographers do a little retouching whether you ask for it or not.

I would definitely want my photographer to edit/touch up my photos. If I happen to have a pimple in the middle of my forehead, I would like that removed from pictures and I definitely would not complain about teeth whitening.
