I am due in September and didn’t give it any thought at all. It just happened when it happened.

I am a teacher who tries for spring for a super long maternity leave. So far I am two for two! I don’t really worry about anything else though. I am having a c-section on May 27th and my Dad’s birthday is May 20th, my nephew’s birthday is May 22nd, and my stepmom’s birthday is May 25th. Lots of birthdays within a week and it doesn’t bother me at all.

yes!!! if i could I have to. We want to time it during my last year/last semester at law school so I can defer my job offer for a year, want to adjust to a new baby for a year and not have to work while pregnant. Can’t do it too early because I don’t want to be the pregnant lady taking her bar, or the new employee who worked for few weeks and has to take time off for baby right away./

It just doesn’t work that way.

We decided to stop preventing and figured it would take a while to get pregnant, we have an upcoming trip and a lot of events this Spring that I didn’t particularly hope to be pregnant during, but we conceived on the first cycle, and even though it wasn’t what we planned, we are thrilled and feel very blessed.

peegee:  Congratulations, but what do you mean it doesn’t work that way? You had unprotected sex and got pregnant, if you were busy in the spring and didn’t want to be pregnant for that then why try?

As my husband is a teacher we did try, and we will have a late July/early August baby, which I’m so thankful for.

That being said, in the span of the week on either side of the due date, there are about 15 birthdays in our families. 3 sisters, 2 grandparents, a few cousins, and lots of aunt and uncles. I am SICK of everyone saying “You should have him on blah blah blah because it’s my birthday”, but our immediate family tends to throw one big party and I’m excited to get in on that action.
