Pilsner and I know he’d prefer his favorite team over his name (Pottery Barn sells NFL glassware)

Pilsner glass is more upscale I think (and takes less space) and I’d go with just the name or for the something other maybe an image of something personal to them, whatever you pick if you go with something that’s neutral it’ll get more long term use I think, instead of being too “souvenir-y”.

    I second LGenz’s suggestion.

Having one’s name on a Pilsner glass strikes me as a little cheesy for grown men! But I like the favorite team idea or you could do their hometown or alma mater or something, if you don’t have big sports fans.

I don’t think any man is going to care THAT much about what you get. I really hate it when the gifts have the date or the bride and groom’s names. I honestly wouldn’t personalize at all and go with what @LGenz: said.

My Fiance would rather have a beer mug instead of a pilsner, and I love the other posters suggestion of a sports team, or college, etc.  Reason for the mug is that my Fiance loves putting his in the freezer for a few minutes, and we had a pilsner crack once from the freezing, but mugs (at least the Anchor Hocking ones) hold up fine.

According to my guy, the Pilsner glass would be more unique and versatile.  However, I voted other as far as the personalization because he doesn’t see the need to have a glass with his name on it (that seems girly to him) or the date and details of someone else’s wedding.  He said a simple monogram in a masculine font would be cool

@nyscpa2be:  that was probably a weak glass – we store all our beer glasses and mugs in the freezer and have never had an issue 🙂

My Fiance doesn’t drink, so those options don’t appeal to him.

Glass and just the name. Though honestly I would prefer something fun rather than something with my name. Like a favorite quote of the grooms that the guys all share.

I personally wouldn’t care about my friends wedding 10 years from now or care to stare at my name on a glass–but something I shared with a friend that would remind me of them and of that time in our life and bring a smile to my face–that I would love!

Darling Husband probably wouldn’t use a glass with someone else’s wedding personalization on it. I gave the guys pint glasses with mustache’s on them instead of something wedding related, and I’m still not sure if they’ll continue to use them, but they used them that weekend, and they only cost $.88/each, so whatever 😛

My FH likes to drink his beer out of the bottle.  We’re thinking of something along the lines on steaks from Omaha Steaks and 3 months paid subscription to Netflix for the Groomsmen (all are big into grilling and movies.)  Honestly, unless you know these guys love beer and drink it from a glass, it seems like this is more of a gift you get when you don’t know what to get (most guys aren’t going to take the time to pour their beer into a glass at home).  And personailzation is more of a girl thing.  Definitely don’t put the date or position!

Make sure you base your decision on what they like not your FH.  My FH got a personalized yoyo once because the groom was a bit of a nerd.  He doesn’t even know where it is.

Pilsner glasses are our everyday glasses.  I’d take one with my name on it, but if it has someone else’s name and wedding date that’s kind of odd.

Actually this is better than a name!

My Fiance doesn’t drink either, but I know that he has a mug he likes to use for water (which is really all he drinks), so I voted for a mug.

As far as personalizing it, I like the idea of putting something fun on it instead of his name or the wedding date (the mustache idea is pretty funny, and I know my Fiance would like that).

My SO got a pilsner glass with his initials on it as a gift. It was pretty awesome. The initials were perfect. The whole name or name and date would have been too much for the glass.
