I think I would be grumpy if I needed to look pretty and wedding-ready, plus travel to a ceremony at 11am on a weekend. Plus, desserts are my favorite part of a wedding! Go for the desserts! 🙂

Depends on the feeling you want the overal reception to have. Is this going to be a mostly family affair? Then I go for pasta. If you are planning on having more friends and want to do the dancing route, then I vote dessert.

I’m voting pasta overall in the survey though, FI’s cousin had a day time wedding this summer and it was nice to spend time with the family, very casual and light. But they had mostly family.

This is a little hard. With a summer ceremony, I tend to think daytime events are nice to take advantage of the good weather. But if it was most other times of the year, I’d say evening because I think evening receptions are a lot of fun.

Given that your ceremony is at a botanical gardens though and in summer, I think you should have it during the day. Take advantage of all the good reasons to have a summer wedding!

I’m biased, but I like day time with pasta!  Summer & garden just seem to go with daytime.  Plus, since dancing isn’t a highlight, I don’t think nighttime partying is a necessity (plus day time allows for the possibility of a nighttime after party if your friends feel like it).

If you DO go with daytime, could you save money by having it on SUNDAY instead?  Just a thought (FI & I are doing that, mostly b/c we’re having two ceremonies to fit Catholic requirements & still have our dream outdoor wedding).

I vote for dessert!  As much as I love me some pasta, it’s hard to look pretty and demure when stuffing your mouth with spaghetti…hehe.

Could you do the daytime and have a dessert station with the pasta bar? I voted daytime because I think it would be better for the venue and taking advantage of it and as I’m pretty indecisive, too, I would just do both! The dessert bar doesn’t have to be super expensive but you could pick out some really good ones!

I think from what you’ve said in the last couple of posts, it makes more sense to go for an earlier ceremony and have a pasta lunch, based on the fact that your venue is a botanical garden and you won’t be serving alcohol…Sounds lovely to me, a summer daytime wedding in a garden!
