@Girasole:  definitely church ceremony in that case. If no one has to go through a tunnel, you’re all good!

I expect to have a bit of a drive between ceremony and reception locations. That would be fine by me! Plus, free valet parking and cocktails upon arrival? Sounds great!

Obviously, that’s all from the perspective of a guest. Which would make you happier as the bride?

For me, I don’t like outdoor events so bring on the drive and immediate booze! That sounds fine. It’s 15 minutes from my church to my venue and I don’t think that is too far.

I, personally, prefer outdoor events, so that’s what I voted. But I had to laugh out loud at the possibility of you running from your wedding due to a seagull. so maybe indoor is better for you. I don’t think 20 minutes is a long drive. Honestly I think either one would be just fine.

@Girasole:  I am terrified of birds too. I would run away from your wedding (and potentially scream in terror) if a bird was anywhere near me. As such, inside is how I voted 😛 Also, you don’t have to worry about weather if it is inside.

There’s a 30 minute drive between my ceremony & reception spot (depending on traffic). It’s pretty much expected here. No one does anything without driving for a while in Long Island.

@Girasole:  Hahaha! Silly dad. The majority of the weddings I’ve attended had 15-30 minutes of drive time between ceremony and reception. Wouldn’t even faze me. 😉

@Girasole:  If you do it outside, what is your weather backup plan? It sounds like you weren’t wanting to move it into the reception venue. Is there another viable alternative? I voted inside anyway, but I think it might be something you should consider in your final decision.

@Girasole:  They are filthy, vile, and disgusting. That alone would have me choosing an indoor location. Add in the chance of crap weather and it is a no brainer (at least for me!).

@Girasole:  I know, it’s really sad. Coming from upstate NY, everything was relatively close, and even if someone was ‘far’ there was no one on the road so you got there in 10 mins tops.

It became normal to drive 45mins-1hr to get to work that now that it only takes me 20 is like ‘whoa’.

During rush our everyone calls the LIE the biggest parking lot in NY :P.

I’d choose the first option, since the other would have me moving my car after already parking it.
