I’ve only been to a few baby showers and they’ve all been on Saturdays I think. If you were a guest, would you rather the shower be on a Saturday or Sunday in late-July? I know a lot of people go on vacation so I’m just trying to figure out which day people would prefer.

If it has to do with vacations, it probably won’t matter either way if it was on Saturday or Sunday.
In general, Saturdays tend to be better. On Sundays, many people have church or family time. Or they are preparing for the week ahead.

MrsGirlyGirl : Saturday, unless it’s late afternoon on Sunday. Sunday mornings are my time to clean, shop, meal prep, and basically get my life resorted for the coming week. I have learned that if I mess with that time it throws my whole week off and I’m cranky so I avoid scheduling commitments during that time if at all possible.

tulipdazey : Good point. Thank you.
LilliV : Yep that’s pretty much my Sundays too. I was initially planning for Saturday but was second guessing myself.

For me it depends on the time of day. A nice evening or late-afternoon meal? I would definitely prefer a Sunday. It’s a nice way to wind down the weekend. Saturdays I like to go out and do things, especially in the summer, where I spend lots of time at the beach and traveling.
If it’s in the morning or early afternoon, I’d prefer Saturday. Like PP said, church is a big deal for my Sunday mornings, and then my family usually does a nice brunch. I probably wouldn’t go to a shower if it interfered with this. But I know not everyone is like me XD

Either. If you do Saturday, invites should go out sooner rather than later because calendars for Saturdays in July will probably be filling up faster than Sundays.

I usually prefer showers on Saturdays. Sundays are my days where I reset for the week, especially now that I have kids/own a house/etc. I do a lot around the house Sunday and much prefer to do my running around on Saturdays.
Summer months are tough regardless because of vacations and other commitments.

Ugh, I hate showers on Saturdays. It ruins my whole weekend. I have a lake house, and I hate having to stay in town all weekend because of a shower. I always prefer Sunday afternoon showers. That allows me to do any traveling I want and just leave early to make it back in time for the shower. I have 3 baby showers this summer and they are all on Sunday afternoons. It just works out so much better for everyone.

You’re not going to be able to please everyone, but I’m surprised so many people prefer Saturday showers. They ruin my weekend. Sunday I’m less likely to have plans with my husband, so I prefer showers on Sunday

MrsGirlyGirl : I’d say Saturday usually works better, but i have also attended Sunday showers – just make sure they end early (like 3pm) so people have time to get ready for the next week.

MrsGirlyGirl : I don’t think it would matter too much in terms of the vacation things because if they are away then possibly neither would be best for them.
I would prefer Saturday over Sunday. It can go on later and if drinks are involved then it is the better day to do it on. Plus I like having Sunday’s to relax to myself and get stuff needed done.

Neither …I’m not a fan of showers. I’d rather stop by visit mom and baby and bring a gift.

I’m a fan of a Sunday shower, be it baby or bridal. Those are the most common in my circle as well. Saturday showers really break up the weekend- they are only a few hours long and typically in the middle of the day. If you are factoring summer weekend plans- guests can vacation from Friday evening- Sunday morning and still make the shower.

MrsGirlyGirl : Saturday. If I have to do something on Sunday, it barely feels like a weekend.
