We’re first. It sucks and I hate it. Most of my friends aren’t in any kind of relationship, so I feel guilty talking to them about wedding stuff, and the vast majority of them don’t care about weddings at all. It’s lonely and I feel like I have no support. I’ve also only ever been to three weddings (and one of them was when I was 5) so I have no idea what I’m doing.

We were the only ones so far (and we’re 33). We live in Italy and here it’s pretty common not to tie the knot until you’re 30 or older. Hubby and I met when we were almost 31 and I used to hang out with my single girlfriends before meeting him. Flash forward two and a half years, many of my female friends are not dating anyone.
It’s nice to have a girls’ night out sometimes, but I miss somebody to share my life experiences with. My girlfriends can’t really understand me, and I can’t really understand them. Being single is soooo different from being married.

I’m the first at 24, I don’t mind really. it’s quite cool cos all our friends are mega excited for us as for most of them it’ll be first wedding of their peers. it’s nice to have everyone buzzing and I don’t think we would have quite the same level of excitement from our guests if we were the last but being last would be cool so you’ve got a standard to go by!

I’m so glad that I have no control over this! You all make such good points, whether you picked first, last, or didn’t care! I might be leaning more towards first, since I have a pretty good idea of what I want for my wedding and I have younger relatives who just got married who can help me. Thanks everyone for your input, I can’t wait to hear more!
