    If there’s cake I’d think just brownies would be fine. I’d eat them if they were regular or Girlfriend though. Plus if you got two types you might risk mixing them up.

    Hmm. Maybe Girlfriend brownies and then some frosted brownies as a brownie/cupcake hybrid?

    Depends on cupcake flavor, but I’d take that over a brownie. My husband would probably do the opposite. Brownies are best warm and with ice cream though. A basic one would be boring, IMO.

    If there are brownies and cupcakes there, I’m probably gonna chose the brownie, but if there are brownies for gluten free people and cupcakes for everyone else, I’ll happily eat a cupcake and not feel like I’m missing out on a brownie. 

    Keep it simple!

    I prefer brownies. Can’t you get enough brownies for everyone, but have them all gluten free? I’m sure people who do eat gluten won’t be bothered. And then all you have to do is to communicate to the gluten free people that the brownies are fine but the cupcakes aren’t.

    brideandblue :  why gluten free? Are the majority of your guests gluten free? If I had a few gluten free guests I’d probably just get a few alternatives for their desserts. If it’s the bride or groom who are gluten free – honestly in our backyard post elopement party I was so busy with guests I didn’t even get to eat dessert !

    I would choose brownies before cake any day. It doesn’t matter to me if they are gluten free or not.

    Have you an over-abundance of coeliac guests? Otherwise, why so much gluten free stuff? It’s always such miserable stuff, and total BS as we all now know (unless you have, actual, coeliac disease…). Anyway, regardless, cup cakes are sh*t-house, I’m completely team brownie!

    brideandblue :  I think you’re fine just getting gluten free for your guests who require gluten free, whether it’s cupcakes or brownies. Gluten free products tend to be expensive and even nicely done ones can have an ‘off’ taste to those who aren’t used to them (I’ve noticed this with vegetarian products too- I eat Yves veggie burgers/ meatballs etc and to me it just tastes like a burger and meatballs etc, but to a meat eater it can taste a little ‘off) 

    I’m sure your other guests will be more than happy with your sister’s cupcakes, just make sure the gluten free products are set aside for your gluten free quests-  but if you think others will be eyeballing their brownies lol, then you could add a few plates of homemade or store brought brownies.
