9 seems late to be starting a party, I would probaby fall asleep before I made it out the door to attend lol.

I might be lame but I’m usually pretty worn out on Fridays at the end of the work week, so 9pm would be too late for me to start partying.  I’d go more for 8:00 or even 7:30pm.

HannahGrace:  Agreed! On a Friday I’d say 8pm but on a Sat I’d have no problem heading out at 9pm..

I voted for an 8pm start time, but 7:30 would be even better. On a Friday my day starts at 5:30am. I am straight up worn out and ready for bed by 9:30pm.

CurlyCue:  I wouldn’t really matter to me. I don’t like set-in-stone finish times though I must say; when we have parties they typically start at 8pm and finish whenever as it allows more flexibility eg people can arrive early and leave early, or arrive late and party til the small hours. However, we’re able to have that flexibility as we mainly have parties at home; obv with a venue there are sometimes constraints.

But yeah, as a guest I’d probably prefer something like 8pm-1am; I don’t know if I’d attend something that was strictly 3 hours long, feels a bit ‘school disco-ish’ to me.

Fridays I usually work later bc it’s the end of the week so we have reports so 9 is better for me. I’m not sure if the ages involved make it harder for a later time but my friends are in the 25-35 age range.

I’m 26, so a bit younger than your target age group, but I’d still be way too pooped on a Friday to head out to a party at 9 and stick around until midnight.

CurlyCue:  9-12 if there’s only light appetizers. need time to have dinner first after work.

    I’m 25 and lame, so I voted 8-11.

ETA: Good point about the food part though. I’m a teacher so leave work around 4:30 and my husband usually gets off around 5 or 5:30. We would have plenty of time for dinner before an 8pm party, but others may not.
