    I would give grandma’s dress to a relative because for you, it has cooties and bad luck.

    If you love that dress then go for it!  We search high and low for “THE” dress, why should you have to hunt again when you already own it?  Then again, I’m not one for superstitions 🙂

    You’re thinking of so many changes that in the end it’s not the same dress anyway.  I say go for it!  If you were keeping it exactly the same, I’d feel differently – new dress, new life and all that, but you’re just taking something you love and have a sentimental attachment to and modifying it to fit your new life.  You wouldn’t necessarily buy a new house for the same reason, right? 

    Change the dress, wear it and enjoy!
