I think it’s a little weird. If you buy a dress with the intention of wearing it to get married to one person, that fails and you wear it for another person it seems like you’re skipping a step you should be doing for this person! You envisioned yourself getting married to someone else in this dress…. that’s weird.

If you were proposed to with a ring that was bought for another woman (but never given to her/actually proposed with) how would that make you feel?

I dont see anything wrong with wearing an unworn dress from a previous engagement.. I am single and already know what dress I want to wear! Its about the vision and how you want to look on your special day.

If you are still in love with the dress design there is no need to spend more money and time looking for a different gown. Its a dress not a ring!

I don’t know maybe it’s because I have been in this situation before I would just feel like it was a major symbol of my past relationship. I think I would feel more comfotable buying a new gown that represents my moving forward to a new chapter in life. However that is me personally everyone is different.

If he was fine with it I’d definitely do it. The dress is about how you imagined looking the day you got married. Its all about you not about your Fiance. So I would be fine with it. Only catch would be what sort of feelings you have associated with it. On your wedding day will you be thinking of a failed relationship or will you be thinking “I look amazing and I’m about to see my beloved” ?

It depends how I felt in the dress. I would need to try it on, and see if it felt ‘right’.

But, I most likely would prefer to sell the dreas and use the funds for something I can enjoy now rather than having a 10k dress in my closet.

But, this is coming from someone who after I separated from my ex I threw my wedding dress in the bin along with all our wedding photos haha.

If it were my dream dress..Heck ya.

There no silly thing like bad juju. It’s a dress. If it’s still the style I love and I’d regret having to buy some other substitute just because of so called juju.

And no Ur not just replacing the man..God. it’s a dress. Now if you made him wear the same tux get the same wdding bands and told him to call up your ex’s groomsmen…then you’d just be replacing the man.

So your new SO doesn’t have a problem with it? Are you all already talking marriage?
