@Lepidoptera:  I didnt see any light pink flowers in any of your pictures, and think your hair and make up looked beautiful, but if you dont think your vendor provided the services they promised then go ahead and write an honest review!

@Lepidoptera:  the hair looks good. I do see what you are saying with the flowers though. I would just say something like you asked for all ivory flowers but she included some pale pink.

I would certainly mention the flowers, but I can see what you mean about some of them being pink. As for the hair, what style were you going for? Did the hairdresser ignore what you wanted and do his own thing? Was there a miscommunication? Did you bring photos to show?

@Lepidoptera:  If you end up writing an honest review be very CAREFUL about what you say and how you say it.

My mom had a horrible experience with a landscaping company once – it was REALLY bad. My mom left a HONEST review about her experience with the company and the company replied to the review threatening to sue for slander as none of it was true. (But it was). It scared her so she updated the review to say she was not satisfied at all and left out all details.

So don’t say anything that you can’t prove, even if it’s true.

What help is a review if people don’t give honest feedback, positive and negative?

And so what if they contact you. As long as you’ve gotten everything you need from them, they can email you to death and you don’t have to respond.

@Lepidoptera:  Your wedding was gorgeous!!!!!! I hope you don’t look back at it with regrets.

However in regard to vendor reviews – I see all the things you mentioned for the florist. I don’t think they are noticble errors to your guests, but it wasn’t what you asked for which was clearly stated in the contract. Why not let other brides know that while everything was beautiful, the contract was not followed to the letter? That’s important to many brides.

Your hair&mu though – that’s sooo subjective. It looks beautiful to me, but to you it may bring out features you don’t like. I really can’t comment.

@Lepidoptera:  I definitely think you should review them.  When I was looking at vendors, I wanted to read what people like and didn’t like about them so that I knew what I was getting into.  Its easy to only write good reviews…but I’m always interested in the bad reviews too. To see what someone didn’t like..so that you know what to (or not to) look for.

I thought that was the whole point of a review.

@Lepidoptera:  For what it’s worth, I don’t think that your hair looks lopsided in those photos.

While I see the very pale pink roses in the centerpieces, I also saw that you had lots of pink uplighting, which makes them look ivory. Is this what you wanted? No. But it didn’t ruin your day. Your wedding looks gorgeous!

@Lepidoptera:  I think you’re over reacting. Your hair looks fine. And as far as the pale pink flowers go, yes you may have asked for them to be ivory and not pale pink BUT you then light the room with a pink light… Definately over reacting.

I honestly would only write a negative review if they were mean/rude/dishonest/stole something or any other malicious stuff.

Neither I nor my bridesmaids liked my hair and makeup artist. She was nice as all get out, had the experience (worked for magazine shoots) but when it came to me and my girls’ faces/hair it all fell apart. I was tempted to write a negative review but I just didn’t have the heart to have her ever come across it and remember me and connect me to that opinion. I know it’s “wrong” and that’s what reviews are for, but the idea just made me uncomfortable. So I just didn’t write anything. When my engaged friends ask for my H/MU vendor I simply had to say that I do not recommend her.

@MrsGatito:  The fun way to tell someone’s full of shit is if they threaten to sue you for “slander” over something you wrote. That’s libel.
