I didn’t want to threadjack so i started this.
Personally, I would show up to a park wedding in the rain. I would wear a jacket? My rainboots? Bring an umbrella? I would stand around, smile at the couple, eat my cupcake and go home. I would probably even have a good time!
Would you? Or would you decline the invite?

If it was a planned wedding that I had receieved an invite to, then yes.
If it was a facebook invite that 400 other people got then no, I would not.

If it was outdoors and not under any kind of tent or pavillion I wouldn’t go unless it was someone I’m extremely close to.
ETA: Now that I’m thinking about it I might be more inclined to suck it up for the ceremony, but not a chance I would stay for the reception. I’d rather go somewhere I could dry off and warm up.

How close am I to the person getting married?! LOL
I’m a people pleaser so damn it, I’ll show up in my boots, rain jacket and with an umbrella. And then I’ll get the hell outta there as early as possible.

If I knew there was no tent and it was raining, I would assume the ceremony had been cancelled and not go. Has anyone ever been to a wedding outside, no shelter, when its pouring?

I agree– if it’s a traditional wedding (even a casual one) that I was invited to– I would go. If it’s a mass event that no one would miss me at, I’d likely skip it.

@Bostongrl25: Dissing on me “behind my back” is in very poor taste.

I would bring an umbrella, but if I knew there wasn’t any shelter and it was pouring, I may not go. Unless it was family!

I see what you did there.

@Jenn23: It’s a mini-Woodstock wedding. Throw in some public sex and it’s REALLY a party!
@KLDMLO: I personally would have to agree with this.

@OldMrsMcDonald: I edited out what I wrote, but yeah, basically sounds like Woodstock alright. lol Actually, it may be loads of fun. 🙂
