Yes, I would. I personally didn’t think that I needed to get married to prove our committment. We were already living together and I feel as though getting married didn’t really change anything. However, since he wanted to and I know there are multiple legal benefits to getting married we did.

However, if he didn’t want to get married I would still stay with him.

I wouldn’t stay with someone who didn’t want marriage because marriage is very important to me. I wouldn’t date someone seriously until I knew that marriage was important to them as well.

it depends on the relationship.  commitment is more important than a piece of paper.

it would have to be mutal to work though.

if marriage was a non-negotiable to me, no i wouldn’t stay.

I would most certainly stay with MY guy! He’s perfect and our relationship is perfect so if he didn’t want marriage I’d deal.

Absolutely not. Marriage is very important to me, for a number of reasons… so no.

If we had children, I’d definitely want to be married, otherwise I would be OK not being married.

Nope, not even SO, who I already love. I want a family, and marriage is necessary for that for me from religious and legal stand points. I also want that special commitment from SO

No. Marriage is important to me and I want children, which is something I wouldn’t do unless I was married.

Definitely not. Marriage is very important to me and is the only way I will live with someone or have children. I probably wouldn’t even stay if he wanted to wait too long either.

@tiff-tiff-tiff:  Marriage is important to me because of the legal benefits; and a couple of years ago I’d have said I’d have walked. Now, I’m not so sure; I think it would depend on his reasons.

I’m pregnant and will be a Stay-At-Home Mom, so I couldn’t have settled for anything less than marriage. I just wouldn’t feel like it was a secure situation for me or the baby!

No I don’t think I would stay… it’s fairly important to me to have that public legal binding.

No, marriage is important to me. If he didn’t want to get married I would definitely move on as sticking around would be putting my own feelings/hopes aside to please him.
