I would totally rock sweet eternity band with a couple of carats in place of an ering. And, given your job’s restrictions on what you can wear, after the wedding, you could do a simple gold band with it.

Oh, definitely. I bought a cheapie fake diamond band on days when I don’t feel like wearing my regular e-ring. I say go for it! When you get married you could always add another diamond band or a plain band to make it a little more glam. 🙂

i have a 4ctw semi-bezel eternity band that i love to wear alone or with just a plain band.  i wear them when i don’t want to wear my ering (somewhere casual like running errands).

i think you should check them out.  this style would be perfect for your job.  very smoothe and comfortable, with no snagging.

I LOVE diamond bands and stacked bands, so I’m all about it!

Haven’t got an e-ring yet but I’ve seen very nice bands at Blue Nile I would love to have as an e-ring. I have saved them to my computers desktop and there is a link in favorites so SO can’t miss it (although men don’t see important things often:))

Yup! I’ve thought about doing this for a variety of reasons, mostly because I love diamond bands!

My SIL works in the medical field and her engagement ring is a thin eternity band with diamonds all around. When her & my brother got married, she put a thin, plain band on each side. It has a low profile and looks beautiful! 🙂

I would just get one of those necklaces they advertise on the side of the bee here and wear my ering on that when I’m at work.

An “eternity ring” was originally intended as an engagement ring, wedding bands were always plain. It’s still that way in much of the world, and personally I see it that way. So it definitely seems appropriate.

@minted:  Ah, I see.  That sucks.  I love eternity bands, but I also love the traditional engagement ring look (center stone, perhaps some sidestones).  I would honestly just not wear an engagement ring to work because I would want one so bad for the rest of the week lol.  But that’s just me!  I also REALLY love eternity bands and I want one for my wedding band.  I also wouldn’t want to have to explain to people that it’s not a wedding band, it’s an engagement ring.  I hate having to “explain” myself to anyone in general.  I think that people in your profession would understand, though – knowing the rules.  So, bottom line – I think I’d take my ring off for work or I’d get a very simple band that my coworkers would know is my stand in for my e-ring.

I totally would wear a nice sparkly band alone.
