I’m up for a promotion to become a manager at my current job. I have my nose pierced and wear a ring through it. I’ve had this piercing for a long time so I just often forget that I have it. So now I’m just wondering if as a manager people will take me seriously.

MemberWhat industry? I am a manager with a nose piercing (stud) and a couple of visible tattoos and have had no issues. I work in a major city.
MemberI’m definitely not a traditional, conservative person, so I honestly don’t think it matters at all. My Fiance has his nose pierced and his ears tastefully stretched. He had a management position for a while, and I think only a couple of people complained.
MemberI wouldn’t be fazed by a nostril piercing, but a small stud seems more conservative than a ring, in my opinion. I do find septum piercings much more distracting.

Memberpersonally at work I try to have a zero complaint policy about things that I wear/how I dress as there are enough things to hold me back (sex, education, favoritism, personality style, weight, etc) that I wouldn’t want to add another negative on to the list
MemberPersonally, no.
MemberMemberNo, unless you work in a tattoo parlor or the like, I don’t think you should have any facial piercings, visible tattoos…even ear piercings should be simple
