No. I'd tell them "If they love it, that is all that matters!" (or along those lines) : (7 votes)

Yes, after all, they asked for opinions. Why not tell them incase they decide to get another dress? : (9 votes)

Yes, but I would be careful how I worded it. : (15 votes)

Maybe. Depends on if they seem to want honest opinions or just reassurance they look good. : (34 votes)

@wbg21:  Spin-off a bit: If the gal just posted her dress and said “I have my dress!” would you post if you didn’t like it? She isn’t asking for opinions, just showing off “the dress”. I’d probably just say congrats! if I didn’t like it… but then again, I’d probably just say congrats if I liked it too… lol.

In this situation, I’d either say nothing or keep it neutral, like, “Glad you found a dress that you love!” I would never want someone to feel self conscious or bad for no reason. Now if they’re already questioning their choice and ask for honest opinions, then I will be honest – but still in a nice way, saying what is nice about it, if there’s any way it can be altered to change the look, etc.

I think I’m actually MORE likely to be honest on here than in real life! Because if a random person online asks for na honest opinion, I give it, and they react very poorly and get angry…I can apologize and then stop commenting. Whereas if it’s one of my best friends…it would be so much harder to disappoint them, and if they got mad at me for being honest I can’t choose to just not respond to them. That might sound bad, but it’s true.
