Hey, I got engaged in the summer and being a web desinger I have decided to build an online RSVP service. I have seen a few of these services around but none of them really caught my eye in terms of usabillity for guests and organisers.
It would be really usefull to hear your throughts on services like this and maybe if you have used an online RSVP service, what was really good about it? and what wasn’t so good?. Please answer the poll and submit your ideas bellow.
thankyou in advance. Luke.

Most of my guests access the internet around the clock, so I think that it is the most convenient for them and the least inexpensive for me.

As a guest that would be so convenient for me, but I’m not sure if I’d use one for my wedding since I have a lot of older people in my family who aren’t too internet-savvy.

@lumos: Hey Lumos, thanks for your reply, Do you think that you could still make use of an online service to manage your guests and theyr RSPVs despite your guests not using it to edit they RSVPs themselves.
The service I am developing allows the guests and event organisers to edit (attending, not attedning, invited and not invited) rsvp statuses..
p.s. obviously guests can only rsvp to their own.

Not sure if you’re still taking ideas…but I plan to use an online rsvp system. I’m set up on the knot.com but I haven’t really played around with the RSVP settings.
I’m assuming first that it won’t fit my needs exactly. What I will need is various options for RSVPS per guest. For example, some of our guests are being asked to attend different events throughout the weekend. Additionally some of our guests are being invited to stay on the property. I think it will get pretty confusing if it’s not all written out for our guests on their RSVP. Unfortunately I think I will have to do a lot of this coordinating myself. Having multiple options and customization is definitely a plus!
How’s the business going?

I’ve been fiddling with google sites – there’s heaps of wedding site templates you can then make pretty to suit your taste, themes etc.
The one I’ve played with had an RSVP page and there are multiple question formats – short answer (for names etc), select an answer from the drop down list (no of guests), tick one box (meal option etc), space for short/long answer (other info – eg dietary needs, or for fun guests submit a song for the playlist), and the option to make certain questions mandatory before being submitted.
AND it imports the info into a google docs spreadsheet! Magic!
