I’m a new bee but have benefited tremendously from reading posts from members! Here comes my dilema: My fiancé is letting me pick both the engagement ring and the wedding band so I get something I love wearing for the long run. I’m dead set on the wedding band which is half pave in platinum. My fingers are tiny and I’m wearing a 4 in the below photos.
On the left is a 1ct solitaire in cathedral setting, on the right is a 0.7ct in in the same setting with pave. The sale person said the .7 looks better on me, but should I listen to him? My fiancé and I love them both, but now my question comes down to which one is more practical in the long run when it comes to wear and tear, and also presentation? Will the 1ct look ridiculous on me if I go with the pave e-ring?
Any insights mugh appreciated. I’m having a hard time with these two options. Cheers!

I prefer the 1 carat with the plain band. I actually voted for it before realizing the center stone was larger, simply because I prefer the look of a plain band next to a pave band – to me it makes your center stone stand out more and distinguishes the two rings nicely. It’s also a nice perk that it’s a larger stone! If they’re similar prices I’d definitely go for a bigger stone on a plain band vs. a smaller stone on pave.

Depending on the specs I’d got with the 1ct no pave and pave wedding band

Definitely the plain and pave mix. I like when you can distinguish the two rings!

I personally voted for the right photo. It’s something about how it looks as a whole in comparison to the plain band. Also, a huge thing is carat. You have small hands like me so you could get away with a smaller size. My ring that I picked although I don’t have it yet, is a 0.70 carat and my ring size is 4.5. Honestly there is not much difference looking at the 1 carat vs. .7 carat, (except price probably). So it would be a save to go with the 0.70 carat. Plus seriously though I love the look of the right photo! lol.

I like the left picture. I find the center stone pops more from both the size and the plain band. Gorgeous!

I voted for the right photo but your picture is so far away I didn’t realize the stone was smaller. I’d vote for bigger stone, pave band

I like the way the plain band and pave band look together. I think two pave bands side by side would be too much. Plus, the plain band really makes the center stone pop!

I voted the left. It is personal preferance, but I do like the contrast between engagement ring and wedding band. 🙂 Either one is beautiful regardless!

Thank you for your inputs, very helpful! The bigger stone actually costs almost twice as much, so I’m torn between saving on cost for hubby and having something bigger for life haha

I have the same reservation with the two pave bands next to each other but in person they actually look quite complementary. I do like the look of it but worry it might look like I’m flaunting my rings :/

Thank you for taking the time to vote ^^

I have to agree with you that the two pave look like they belong with each other! That’s why it’s so hard to make a decision haha. Have you seen anyone wearing two pave rings around you? Does it look too much, too flaunting?

I agree with many of the PP that my preference is for a plain solitare with a diamond band. The left is my preference with the 1 ct, but would still be my preference with the .7 ct over the double pave.
