So DH and I are going to start TTC. Ive already stopped BC 2 months ago.
I keep thinking maybe we should wait because we have a big vacation coming up the end of April. I dont remember if morning sickness kicks in that quick. Also not sure if I want to be away from home if something bad happens early in the pregnancy.
Im aware these are all “what ifs” because Im definately not pregnant and It may take some time anyway.
So my question is when does morning sickness really kick in?
I remember throwing up on a bank teller when I had MS for my DD but that was a decade ago!

Mine started the day I got my BFP–about 14 DPO I think (that’s how I knew I was pregnant, despite having BFNs 3 days before), and was pretty much relentless until week 12. I didn’t actually throw up very often (1-2x a week?) but I was nauseous and miserable all day, every day. We did go on a couple weekend trips during the first trimester, but I didn’t really enjoy myself.
Related anecdote: We planned a Carribbean vacation last summer with the intention of starting TTC as soon as we returned, so I could still eat and drink and be merry. It seems that we may have conceived on the trip! 🙂

I had hardly any morning sickness at all with either of my pregnancies- so you may be worrying for nothing.

@janinaPK: I never had it 🙂 You may be one of those ladies that gets it right away or not at all, so morning sickness is another big what if.

Mine kicked in at exactly 6 weeks and lasted through week 17. Ugh!

I had MS from about 8-16/17 weeks.
I think it usually kicks in around 6 weeks and last through the first trimester/14 weeks. Of course people are outside those ranges and some don’t get it at all but I think those weeks are the most common.

Mine started from around 6wks (acid reflux) to now, where i am currently 12wks (full on vomiting and gagging). I read that typical symptoms of m/s usually go away by the 12-14wk mark, so I am hopeful mine will go away soon. My mom was sick the entire time with my sister so who knows, it really depends.

You’d have to get pregnant right away for it to even be a problem, so I wouldn’t really worry about it at all!

@janinaPK: Mine kicked in at 6 weeks. It’s mild-moderate. I’m not throwing up, but the nausea definitely keeps me from doing some of my daily routine.

@janinaPK: Just request a perscription for Zofran from your Dr. before you go on your trip. That’s what I did before we took a cruise when I was 8 weeks. I didn’t actually get nauseous on the trip, but it kicked in at 9 weeks and I was glad I already had the perscription!!
