My dress was from the 2008 line, and I’ve been in love with it that long! I don’t think it should matter when it came out.

If it’s “old” and you still like it, all the more reason why it will stay a classic further down the road!

Yes I would and I am. I fell in love with my dress with no idea who made it or what season it was. I purchased and found out a few weeks later just how long it’s been out and how popular it’s been with brides in the past.

I did 🙂 but I still haven’t seen it on another bride anywhere so I may have a truly one of a kind dress. I guess in that case it could be really old and no one would know lol.

@Genny1687:  My Maggie dress has been out for awhile too! (Co-Co) but it was exactly what I wanted and I’m obsessed with it. Nobody at your wedding knows how “old” your dress is (except for maybe a recent bride lol) so wear what makes you happy!

Yes def! I have fallen in love with an Alvina Valenta that is in her spring 2012 collection, and our wedding isn’t until fall 2014…so, if I try it on and love it, it’s mine! Who cares? No one will know 🙂 I’m sure you’ll be amazing in it and that’s all that matters!

I personally don’t have a clue when any dresses came out. The thought would have never crossed my mind!

no one will even notice.  if you love it and love the way you look in it, that’s all that matters.

Sure! I have looked at gowns around 2005 even since they don’t look dated to me.

The famouse Casablanca 1900 that many brides wear to day is from 2009.

However, don’t go too far back.

@sienna76:  Lol.  Love the 80’s pic.  If I want to look like a linebacker for my wedding, I know which era to choose!

@Genny1687:  My dress is from the same time as yours and I love it!  Another dress that was a front-runner for me was from 2009!  I think unless you’re into the latest trends (bustier tops and peplums seem to be the hot trends this season), it doesn’t matter too much.

Totally agree with PPs, even after studying dresses for over a year, online, in magazines and in stores, I wouldn’t be able to tell you if a style was a month old or three years old.  Wear what makes you happy!

Absolutely! I picked out my dress before I met Fiance. Lucky for me, it is still in stock!
