I’ve read articles on how strapless has become so popular, but that many brides don’t really look that great in strapless?
Do you believe that’s true?
I’m still looking for my dress, and while I believe (and others have told me) that I look GREAT in strapless because I have great looking shoulders that I should show off. I can’t help but think that I don’t want to look back at my pictures and regret wearing strapless on my wedding day.
For the record, I LOVE dress with straps too, but I’m just not sure which route I’m going to go with my dress.

I love my strapless dress, and typically I don’t think I look good in strapless, but I’ve lost weight, and there are some pics that my arms and shoulders look rockin’! I love it! I’ll look back at pics and see my hard work coming to fruition!

Have to be careful to get on that fits you perfect.. you don’t want to look funny, and also I hate when I have to keep pulling it up!

I agree, you need to get a dress that fits you well and is flattering. Strapless isn’t for everyone, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it won’t work for you.

I wouldn’t shop for dresses one way or the other. Try them all on. Some strapless might not look the best, but some will look great. It all depends on the entire dress, not just the straps, or lack thereof. Good luck! 🙂

I was 100% sure I was not going to wear a strapless dress, and ended up with one…so I think you should try on all styles and you will know ‘the one’ when you put it on

I agree with the other bees – try everything on! I’ve been in strapless dresses before, and some fit me better than others, but I knew I didn’t want to keep tugging the day of my wedding (which happens no matter which strapless dress I wore). So I went with a spaghetti strap dress. And I loved it!

I’d just go for what you love.
I found a dress a month ago that made me cry that has straps and I thought great, first dress, first shop and i’ve found the one. I did though try on more in that shop and the next one but nothing measured up to it. All strapless ones weren’t suiting me. However a couple of weeks ago, doubt started creeping in. I wonder if the straps actually make my arms look big and as a whole, look like i’ve gone for the safe option because I haven’t got the figure to carry anything else off. It’s weird as my Bridesmaid or Best Man dress for my friend’s wedding this August which was strapless, looked fine on me. I’m going shopping again this Saturday to try those dresses on that also caused me to have doubts as I’ve admired them since being engaged and i’m going to try on strapless just in case I can carry it off. I just want people to go Wow and i’m worried the one with straps will look like a safe option.

I loved my strapless dress! It looked great and was so well fitted for me it wasn’t going anywhere! I also had an outdoor ceremony in 96 degree humid NC weather so it was great! I had a cotton dress so it didnt have thousands of heavy fabric to weigh me down and overheat.

Almost every formal dress I’ve ever worn has been strapless. I wouldn’t say I have a particular affinity for the style- but with my shoulders and 3rd and 4th armpit boobs and weirdly fat arms- it actually works. (I don’t mean to sound down about my self-image- I’m just trying to depict the lay of the land…)
In some dresses- straps actually draw attention to these unfortunate details- whereas strapless tends to give you a clean line and proportion. I’d say I’m curvy- and with a well-fitted dress, strapless looks great!

Another girl here who SWORE up and down no strapless and ended up with one.

I would totally go strapless again. It’s such a beautifuil classic neckline and even though in general I feel ‘naked’ in strapless dresses, I felt like a beauty queen on my wedding day.

I really didn’t think I would end up with strapless, but I did and I love it!

I tried on a couple strapless dresses, but I knew they’d look terrible on me! I knew I wanted a dress with straps because I need more support, so I ended up getting a spaghetti strap dress and I love it!
