As someone who has conducted interviews, I second those who are advising to leave the large ring at home and just wear the wedding band to the interview.  While things like jewelry shouldn’t matter, people definitely make assumptions.  After an interview where the interviewee had a HUGE engagement ring (maybe 4+ carats? definitely very large for my area), there were some comments made afterward by other interviewers about whether the interviewee even needed the job.  Totally unfair, obviously, but it goes to show that the potential for people to make negative assumptions is definitely there.  In my area anything up to 2 carats is considered “normal,” so I would say know your audience and if you think they will make negative assumptions about you based on your ring, just leave it at home til you get the job. 🙂

Ellee16 :  Because single people are so unstable. Marriages can be just as unstable.
