@Mrs. Wallaby:  I wish I had good vision and didn’t have to wear contacts or glasses! I will gladly trade eyes with you if you want a legit excuse to wear glasses lol.

Yeah, no. I depend on glasses to see. I would never wear them ‘just because’. I don’t think glasses are a ‘fashion accessory’. That’s what sunglasses are for.

My friend wears glasses with no prescription because she thinks they maker her look smarter and she is a bandwagoner.

In general I’m against the idea. Having to wear glasses is a nightmare. Especially when you are young and you want to do anything active. When I have to wear my glasses instead of contacts I become more reserved and more nervous? So I don’t get the appeal my generation has with them, except that it makes it seem as though the person is computer savvy or likes non fiction books. And that it on some people it looks better.

maybe everyone wants to be harry potter?

But then again I’m usually against stuff that is a dumb butted fasion trend. I mean why would you wear glasses that you think compliment your face when there are people who have to wear glasses and they defintely do not compliment there’s?

It’d be like having your bachellorette party at a gay club in a state where gay marriage is illegal. Kinda rude?

LOL that was kind of a stretch I’ll admit. I’m not meaning to sound rude. I mostly just think you probably look fine now, why wear glasses when you probably already look super awesome and pretty?

I need my glasses to see. After years of wearing uncool glasses (because I was in elementary and middle school and had no sense of style), I wore contacts all throughout high school until I found a pair of frams that complimented my glasses. I actually wear my glasses quite a bit now, because I like how they look on me. However, if I had the option, I would never wear glasses again (I do have contacts but they are uncomfortable to wear on a daily basis, plus it takes an extra minute in the morning that I sometimes don’t have).

I didn’t know people wore fake glasses for fun. I think that’s a little insulting, because people used to get made fun of for wearing glasses. It’s not like we have a choice in the matter. You can’t really go without seeing…

I don’t think so. I wear glasses at work because I’m on the computer all day. Always so happy to shed them at the end of the workday!

I hate wearing glasses.  I’m blind as a bat, so to speak, but I wear contacts every day because I hate wearing glasses.  Before I was allowed to get contacts I would just stumble around without glasses because I hated them so much.  I didn’t feel normal.  There is no way I would ever choose to wear them for fun if I didn’t have to.  To be honest, I’m seriously considering laser eye surgery, so I would definitely not wear them for fun.

It does seem kind of hipster to me.  Meh, to each their own.

I did in high school, and then I started needing new glasses. >.< Now I wish I just had perfect vision so that glasses could be an option as opposed to a necessity!

@vorpalette:  lol, +1. I also find it annoying that people seem to think this is okay. Glasses are corrective devices (other than sunglasses, which everyone should have to protect their eyes). I wouldn’t wear a hearing aid for fun or use a wheelchair as an accessary. I just think it’s obnoxious but I guess I’m the only one ๐Ÿ˜›

@MrsPanda99:  No, I get you. I don’t know why anyone would want to wear glasses for fun–I barely wear mind because I find them really annoying.

I wouldn’t wear them under any circumstances. I especially hate it when people wear the ones with the huge frames – if they’re clearly not prescription I get an involuntary urge to punch them in the face lol

My ex wore a pair on occasion to “look smarter” and that was just…no.

I’m super duper blind without my glasses or contacts, like I can only see about 4 inches out clearly. Wearing glasses get super annoying because they shift around on you and I find that the pressure on my nose can give me headaches. I also get headaches from the light glare across the lenses. I wear my contacts as much as possible to avoid those things and because I really like having peripheral vision. When I wear my glasses I have a tendency to hit my head, I’ve actually dented my skull a few times. I do not understand why someone would want to wear something that is annoying, gives you headaches, and makes it more likely you’ll hit your head due to vision obstruction.

@Mrs. Wallaby:  After wearing glasses for 19 years and finally getting laser eye surgery a couple years ago I don’t think I would do it!  Granted there are times that I miss how I looked in them.  I mean, lets face it glasses are cute.

But even if I got the nerve to wear fake glasses, people would question my surgery and if it worked or not.  Thats’s not something I would want to explain.
