Our venue for ceremony/reception, food (hors d’ourves, meal, late night, and cake), rentals (linens, chair covers, dishes, etc), open bar, alcohol, and serving staff will be about (and I am guessing because nothing is final yet) $12,000 for 50 people. It’s friggen disgusting when you think about it! And that’s not including decorations, officient, DJ….
Oh well! I know it will be well worth it because I LOVE the venue and could not think about doing anything differently! The “competing” place was cheap… like $500+$100pp but it didn’t have nearly the charm and elegence we wanted and I think I can justify spending the extra $5000…. sorta…. haha!

@miss_blondie86: I fell in love with a flower farm that was $5,000 for literally just the space. On top of that, the couple needs to rent tables, chairs, a DANCEFLOOR, a tent, etc. Ridiculous!

It’s costing $4500 just to rent the space for our party. That includes… chairs. Yep, that’s it.
Food, bar, everything else is extra.

- Wedding: May 2012 - Salvage One, Chicago
Our venue, where we’ll have the ceremony and reception, is $6,000. This only includes the space and tables and chairs for ~180, but it’s right on par with city venues, if not low. I’ve heard they’re increasing their rate to $8,500. The place is a unique kind of salvage/reclaimed antuques kind of place, so it’s deffinitely ‘decorated’ with all their cool stuff. Food and Bev (plus rentals and staff) is a whole other adventure- that’s about $20,000.

Well those are some pretty pennies! But for the things that some of you are getting, its worth it. I just wanted a pretty outdoor space to serve as my blank slate and that’s exactly what I got. I’m just glad it was for a great price too.

I think we have a $12,000 minimum or something but with the number of people we’re inviting it wil probably be a lot more than that! It’s a really nice place though.

Ours is a bit steep ($7500 food and beverage minimum) but it’s beautiful and the price is inclusive to a TON of things so we don’t have to worry about so many loose ends (4 hour open bar, cocktail hour with stationary & passed hor d’ouerves, champagne toast, cake cutting, incredibly beautiful china and flatware + a complimentary suite in the hotel for the two of us). Plus it’s only $500 extra to hold the ceremony there. I’d imagine when all is said and done, we’ll probably hit the $10,000 range for everything venue-related (including decorations and the cake/desserts). My goal is to spend no more than $15k total, and we are saving for it so we won’t have money issues.
Seems expensive, but Fiance and I both agree that we only live once and will only get this one shot to have a beautiful, elegant milestone celebration so why not? If we’re gonna throw a party, it’s going to be grand 🙂

Wow, that’s a great price! You are lucky. I am too! I could not bear to pay the prices of pretty much all venues around St. John’s. Plus the bar prices were expensive and catering was way more than i I wanted my parents (who volunteered to cover that) to pay. Luckily I came across a large venue where I could have the ceremony and reception, had cheap bar prices, and good inexpensive catering ($15.50 a head). Oh, and the rental is $200 with a $300 deposit which just gets put toward the catering.

We just found our venue today!!! $500 for the ceremony/cocktail hour which all takes place on the dock (it’s a yacht club). This includes 100 chairs, an arbor, tables and chairs for the cocktail hour, set up and tear down. The reception has a $6000 food and beverage minimum. With hors d’oerves stations during the cocktail hour, an average dinner plate cost of $35, and drinks/bar I’m pretty sure we won’t go much over the minimum. We also have a few colors of linens we can choose from that come with it, or we can upgrade. But all the basics linens and table skirts are included, even for the cocktail hour. Oh, and the bridal room is included as well. Or for like $350 you can rent this other room that is like a giant apartment with 3 bathrooms for everyone to get ready. And for a send off, they have fireworks and the bride and groom ride off in a boat with a “Just Married” sign. lol So cute.

Our venue is $450 for the day 8am – 11pm. This is where we will have our ceremony and reception. This will also include tables and chairs and a full kitchen at our disposal. Oh and a wonderful ice machine. We will get $300 of this deposit back when all is cleaned up.
We will have our food catered, and was quoted $500 from a great italian place that we eat at often. We also will be ordering wings and sliced beef from another place. This is to feed 150.
Trying to stay under $2000 and so far so good.

I am so jealous its not even funny. I am getting married on a Sunday and is paying about $90 PP and paying 400 for the ceremony site. I wanted to have my wedding for 10k and that was a joke. As of right now I am looking at 16-18k for everything and that is considered dirt cheap in my area.

Ours is at Country Club and paying an average of $58-62 per head (depending on the food choice). That includes open bar for 5 hours, 2 passed apps, champagne toast, linens, china, chair covers etc.. So I thought a pretty good price!
