Our venue is $4000 for 7 hours plus 2 hours beforehand for setup. We’re doing both the ceremony and reception there, but it doesn’t really include anything besides tables/chairs for dinner and a “day of” coordinator. We are planning on doing the ceremony outside, but if it rains the inside location is beautiful as well which was pretty important to me.

We had looked at one place that advertised a really good price, but once we met with the coordinator we learned that for our ~100 person wedding we would have to have a minimum of $12,000 food/drink (through them), and you also had to book 10 hotel rooms for 2 nights each (again through them). And if you chose an outside location for the ceremony and it rained, they would pick where you got married inside based on what was available at the time. Yeah no.

We’re looking between two places right now. The first one is 7K rental fee and includes a ceremony space, tables, chairs, furniture, stages, and decorations since it is an antique store. The second place is 5K. It has all of the same stuff, but it is significantly smaller and partially separated in to two rooms. Both of these places are pretty moderate for downtown Chicago. I have no idea how we are going to do this wedding in under our 20K budget at this point.

I’m getting married at St Patrick’s cathedral and then a ballroom on 5th avenue in NYC…$32,000 for venue and $2000 for church, for 150 ish people. This is actually a moderate price for manhattan. I looked at the plaza hotel…110,000 minimum for Saturday night. Yes, one hundred and ten thousand dollars. almost passed out and that dream died quickly! Ga.

My venue is a really beautiful reclaimed farm.  We are paying $2300 and it includes the farmhouse (which we will probably use for the rehearsal dinner), the chapel (built in the 20’s with really gorgeous stained glass-this will be our ceremony site if it rains), a beautiful stone pavilion with ampitheater seating, and a converted/modernized barn that is a gorgeous reception space.  We get the whole grounds for two days along with 2 nights in the cabin on the property.  Tables and chairs are included as well, but we have to do all the set up and hire someone to do the break down.  I still think it is a great deal since I am only spending about $2,500 on catering because of family ties!  Looks like a 10k dream wedding is possible!

our venue is a total of about 20,000.00 so some of your prices look pretty darn good to me 🙂 its 82.00 per person for filet mignon and chichen or shrimp, also and open bar for 4 hours, champagne toast, 4 diff hor dourves for cocktail hour, a dance floor, and cake cutting and all our linen, even though im not using theirs, a suite for the night and to also have our ceromony there.

We don’t have to pay for the venue itself, its covered in the cost of the price pp.  We’re paying $130 pp and looking at 140 guests so thats $18-$19K approximately.  It includes absolutely everything from cocktail hour, full top shelf open bar for the whole night, all the tables/chairs/linens/lighting/4 course dinner/cake/full vienese hour.

Its maybe a little higher than average for my area, though not by much (Saturday night wedding), but we think its fully worth it.

ETA: that price pp includes a 21% gratuity and 7% sales tax.

I’m in MA near Boston so of course prices are inflated but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t hurt to say my venue is costing more than $10,000

My venue is a 23k minimum for a saturday night AND you have to pay another $1800 to have the ceremony there. I know, it’s absolutely freaking ridiculous. I get angry just thinking about it. The truth is, though, in the area where I am getting married (not ATL) that was about the averae.

I decided against my original venue.  I just discovered one that will run around 5k and includes everything (alcohol, catering, coordinater, two different ballrooms, tables, chairs, linens, etc).  It is in the “downtown” part of town that is all really cool converted mills.  The venue is a hotel that is in an old cotton mill and we are within walking distance of a gorgeous river veiw for the ceremony.  I really hope I get it!!!!!
