Wow that was rude! You were thinking of them by checking – it’s their gift after all! I think you are definately in the right here so don’t let him make you second guess yourself

I don’t think their snarky response was necessary. If you were simply inquiring that your gift made it through the post, then there was no need for them to be offended.

That IS rude! I would have expected them to say they had. I think it was reasonable to ensure they had got their gift, especially in a day and age where the mail system doesn’t always deliver all their packages without a loss.

Oh man, so rude! It is definitely beyond the acceptable time frame for them to send out thank you notes, so you are for sure allowed to check to see if they got the gift.

That really was rude!  I’d just let it go.  Don’t stoop to his level.  If you want to give them the bday gifts you already bought them, go ahead.  But if you didn’t, it’s totally understandable.

That’s crazy, something really similar happened to us too. We were unable to attend a friends wedding so we sent them a gift through the mail from their registry. We never received a thank you note so I started to wonder if they even got it, so I asked.. She was like….oh yeah, wit got it. Thanks..

I was so taken aback by her rudeness. It sucks that people don’t know manners. :/

Wow thats RUDE.  If I was the couple (and hadn’t sent them a card yet), I’d be like “OMG you didn’t get my thank you card?!  It must have been lost in the mail… I’ll send a new one”  – and write one as soon as we hung up the phone.

Some people just refuse to do Thank You cards now a days.

I’ve even heard of a wedding where the DJ announced “the couple would like to thank everyone for their gifts now, because they won’t be sending out thank you cards…. so THANK YOU!”

Tacky.  Yes… TACKY.

That is very rude! I don’t see why people don’t send out thank you cards anymore. It’s something very simple to do that means a lot to the other person.

I guess the response means they might realize that they’ve commited the faux pas!
