Oh boy.  They should be able to give her a dewormer and kill the suckers pretty quickly.

Scaring!

Yes dewormer is magical, I give it to my horses !

If you know where you got the kitten and any of the littermates, you should definitely contact them!

Yep, sounds like tape worm.  She should get some flea medicine too  since that is how they get them.  Do you have other pets?  They may need to be treated as well.

Be careful. Wash your hands SUPER well… they could be Pin Worms… you can get them… speaking from experience… I got them when I was a kid, and played with a stray kitten outside….

Ouch! 🙁 It’s not a big deal from what I’ve heard, it’s easy to get rid of with a vet’s help.

My puppies had worms. I started giving the D-Earth and a few days later I notice one of my pups struggling to go potty outside. Then I notice that there are lots of string like things hanging out of him that he’s not expelling. So gross. The tapeworms had gotten pretty long and he couldnt expell them So I had to put gloves on and had to pull them out. yuck!!!!!!!! And I used to be a vet tech. I’ve seen open wounds, surgery, all kidns of horrible stuff and it never fased me but this … omg and they were moving… *shudder*

@Immacoconut: Oh my gosh, that is horrible.  When I was a kid, I read something about tapeworms that were so long they were throughout someone’s body.  So gross!

You will have to give her another dose of meds 2 weeks after the initial dose.  Just and FYI.  When we treated our kitten, we didn’t see any tape worms after the first day, so it works really fast.
