My purse broke the other day. I knew it was on the verge of breaking for a while–the stitching on the handle had been coming loose for a while–and then last weekend the strap just snapped. It looked realllly awful after that. I made a complaint to a coworker about it saying I needed to go buy a new one because it finally bit the dust (I’ve been holding off on buying a new one because I’m broke).
This coworker said, “Oh, I have plenty of purses I need to get rid of, and I can give you one no problem? Would you like one?” She started telling me about all of these fancy purses and told me she had a new Coach purse (which I’m pretty sure is real) so she wouldn’t be using all of the other ones, ever.
After sending me a few pictures, I told her I liked the brown one the best. She brought it in to work today, and it’s a Dolce & Gabbana purse. My heart stopped. I’m not one of those girls who has to have designer everything, but I’ve had several label envies in my life, and D&G is one of them (along with Marc by Marc and Chanel). Obviously I can’t afford expensive taste so I resort to buying the cheapest of everything I need.
I’m so thrilled. This purse is pretty! I don’t even care that theres a little marker mark on the outside, I got this baby for free. And even if turns out fake, I don’t really wanna know. I’m just happy. Damn, my coworkers are amazing.

Oh wow, score!!! Maybe you could get her a little something, just for being so damn nice. Even a hand written card, thanking her for it would be perfect. Definitely post pics!!

WOW! I agree with @MrsSl82be: a hand written card is a must! Pictures, please?

Okay, I just checked, but it’s fake. Oh well, it’s still really cute.

@SleepingWithNuns: how can you tell its fake? Hell yes, doesn’t take anything away from it being awesome and a great gesture

I think a thank you card would be lovely as well (as a bride-to-be, I’m starting to really get their significance!)
Also, I’d love to see a pic! I’m a purse hound 🙂

@MrsSl82be: I checked online just because curiosity killed the cat (me) and it said to look for a made in china tag inside, and sure enough!
Still super nice! I’m definitely giving her a thank you card!

@SleepingWithNuns: My Coach knockoff purse from our honeymoon constantly gets mistaken for a real one. I’ve had it over a year. It’s beginning to fall apart, but I don’t care. It’s served well so far. I have some friends that can’t believe it’s a knockoff.

@brox: 🙂 I know! It doesn’t bother me that it’s a knockoff, it’s still pretty! And more than I could probably ever afford anyways
