I always design them on my computer using indesign and use a sheet of sticky printer to print them out on. Sticky paper is very resonable in single sheets from Kinkos or Office Depot printing center. Maybe you have a friend who is into design to help you out?

I bought the Xyron Sticker Maker at Michaels for $14 on sale.  This way, I can print labels myself on whatever paper, and then just sticker them and add them to the envelope.  Not stuck with label paper.

Of course, that was before I found an amazing calligrapher through another bee for just $1.50 an envelope.  Decisions, decisions.  Can I swing $125?
