I will be traveling with my dress 4 hours away from home. We are getting married on the beach and since we will be staying there for a week after our ceremony for our honey moon our back seat will be full of stuff. Our parents cars will be packed full of totes of our wedding stuff and of course their belongings. I plan to just lay my dress it its travleing bag across on top of everything in our back seat. I am worried that even after I get it steamed by the time we get there it will be wrinkled again. My dress material is chiffon. I was thinking about buying a small steamer and taking it with us but that is just another expensive and something more to pack.
For anyone else who is traveling, how do you plan to keep the wrinkles out of your dress?

We traveled about an hour away. I picked my dress up at 11am and we got to the hotel and unloaded at like 2 or 3pm. I was worried about it being wrinkled again, mine is satin. But it didn’t at all. We hung it up and took it out of the bag as soon as we could and it was perfect, no wrinkles.

I had my dress steamed and I picked it up on a Thursday. I traveled back home with it two hours that day then the next day traveled another two hours with it and got married on Sunday. It didn’t have any wrinkles in it, I just made sure it was put on top of everything in the car and that I hung it up as soon as I got to the rental house.

If you are really worried about this, I suggest purchasing a portable steamer.
This is the one I have:
I got it during a Black Friday sale, but it is totally worth the money. I use it all the time- it’s small enough to take with you in the car, and it can be used pretty much anywhere- most steamers have a bar that you hang the steamer head on, but this just comes with an over-the-door hook. Much easier to travel with.
I got it for the wedding, but I use it on a regular basis just to steam wrinkles out of my everyday clothes! It’s wonderful.
