I purchased my wedding dress a few months ago. Maggie Sottero “Cooper.” Looking back at the pictures I noticed how wrinkled the dress was in my stomach area. The material is silk or satan. Looking back at my pictures it is really bothering me and im afraid I will look “sloppy” or like a wrinkled mess on my wedding day. I’m sure I wont even be thinking about it on my special day but it still does bother me. Also I feel my dress is really “flat.” It has no shape to it and i kinda wanted it to be fuller. The dress itself is exactly what I wanted but I just want it not to look wrinkled or flat. Can this dress even be fuller or will it look funny??? ANY HELP OR SUGGESTIONS!? Heres a pic so you can see what im concerned about. Thank you so much!!!!

Hey doll! Congratulations and welcome to the ‘bee! Don’t worry! First of all, you look absolutely beautiful! Second, there are definitely ways to fix your concerns! I think the dress is amazing on you, but YOU need to be happy, so here are some thoughts.
In regards to the dress being “flat,” you can always add a crinoline underneath. You can purchase smaller ones intended to go under gowns such as yours. It’ll make the bottom of the dress “poof” out a bit more, if that’s what you’re going for.
For the midsection, is it a matter of fit or fabric? I’m certainly not suggesting that the dress doesn’t fit you, but often, alterations can quickly improve spots like that.
Good luck, and be happy!

I would definitely buy a fit and flare crinoline skirt (David’s Bridal has a fabulous one) or have a seamstress attach some layers of crinoline to the bottom to poof it out.
Your dress is BEAUTIFUL!

I’m with the PPs, a crinoline will fill in the blank spaces where the wrinkles tend to fall. Your dress is beautiful!

Thank you!!! THis is a picture of just the sample dress. I have not had alterations yet so the dress I tried on in this pic is the sample and it is to big for me. I wasnt sure if alterations could fix that problem……and I wasnt sure if this dress could be fuller or if it would look funny fuller. But I def want some puff to it to make me feel like a bride. Thank you for your response! I just want to look elegant…

I think it fits your shape beautifully and looks very elegant… if it was me, I wouldn’t change a thing.

@manda209: If this is the sample then it is also likely that your actual dress (having not been tried on and taken off a million times by a lot of people) with not be quite so “wilted” and will be a little fuller in the bottom too. And the wrinkles will most likely be less obvious, but it also appears they are right where it would wrinkle if you sit, which may happen anyway or may be helped greatly by a fit altered to you.

I agree with the many crinoline comments. It’ll poof that dress right up.
For the wrinkling along the stomach area, try spanx. I’m not saying you’re fat or anything (you’re not and you look gorgeous in that dress) so please don’t be offended. Spanx really help smooth out material when a dress is bunching. It should help.

This is a picure of me stepping up on the step and I like the way it looks fuller in this picture. This is what I would love it to look like all the time…..

If thats just the sample, I definitely wouldn’t worry about it. Thats what alterations are for! And secondly, a mermaid crinoline would look great with that dress.

i think this dress is really pretty!
i googled mermaid petticoat, and there are literally thousands of shopping results so i think you’ll be fine there. as for the wrinkles across the middle, i believe this is caused by it being a bit too tight in some places and loose in others. alterations or shapewear will totally fix this.
good luck and you’ll look amazing!

Seriously I was expecting more wrinkles in the dress, i barely noticed them at all! Bet definitely do invest in a mermaid crinoline, I bought the one from davids bridal and loved it, although I actually added more tulle to mine for extra poof!

Thank you everyone!!! I’m going to def. look into a mermaid crinoline! I didnt really think about that. And I really do hope when I do have my first alteration the dress smooths out!!!! It just so hard to picture what you will be wearing until I actually get “my dress!” There was alot of good points made! I appreciate the comments and I do feel much better!

I think a lot of the wrinkling in the stomach is because of posture
